Clean & Non-Toxic Oral Care
Changing it up a bit, bringing you some of my favorite clean, non-toxic products.
Let’s start with one of the most important things during pregnancy, oral care!
If you are pregnant or have been pregnant before, you know the importance of healthy oral hygiene. Ensuring you get your 6 month cleaning, flossing, and brushing regularly are of the utmost importance.
With all the hormonal changes in the body, you may have experienced changes in your oral health. Meaning, your gums may be inflamed, bleed easily, cavities … the list can go on. Not to mention, the state of moms health can directly effect the baby’s. I encourage you to do your own research.
Personally, I was onto the idea of non-fluoridated toothpaste when my son was born. I went down a rabbit hole of non-toxic and clean toothpastes for him. Then I looked at my own choice in toothpaste and wondered why do I assume I need fluoride in mine, too? Moreover, why am I using toothpaste that is LOADED with toxins. All in the sake of fresh breath?!
I certainly will not put so much effort into my health with diet to throw it away with poison once in the morning and once at night.
So, to the more important points, do clean and non-toxic toothpaste feel like it cleans your mouth and gives you fresh breath. My answer, you have to try many to determine that very personal decision. Lucky for you, I have!
I am sure there are other safe brands out there but I have fallen in love with David’s charcoal peppermint toothpaste. It feels so fresh and clean , like it’s done the job of Arm & Hammer. Promotes whitening with coconut charcoal, anti plaque, and has peppermint essential oil for the freshness thag truly lasts. Then, I am forever turned on to the brand cocofloss for dental floss. Made with safe ingredients including coconut oil! To top it off, once my Listerine ran out, I wanted to try a non-toxic mouth wash. This Olas brand is LEGIT. Like spicier than Listerine … it burns so good. If you’re a weirdo like me that likes that about Listerine, then you’ll love this!
The last thing… my Sonicare electric toothbrush. I have no clue if the plastic is BPA safe, or what the bristles are made of, and maybe I don’t want to know because I’m not sure if I’m ready to give up my electric toothbrush just yet!
Have you looked into clean, non-toxic toothpaste before? Are you into clean beauty and skincare? If so, what products do you want my opinion on next?
None of this is paid for … just giving my opinions!
